Tools you'll need

Please note that these are #ads and I do make a commission if purchases are made from the links below. I frequently get asked what tools I would recommend if looking to DIY. These links are for tools I specifically use and love to create my pieces.

Table Saw -  I've owned 2 table saws and used several others since I started wood working back in 2010. This saw is the best I've ever used!

Makita Compound Miter Saw - I've used several of these in my past and this is my favorite! It can bevel and angle cut at 45 degrees adding to the number of items I can complete.

Planer - I specifically bought the larger width so I could handle bigger pieces. This is only needed if you purchase raw lumber and need to make the wood smooth and to the proper thickness.

Benchtop Router - I absolutely love this! It's easy to move around my shop and adjust to fit the application I need. It even came with a shaft adapter which really helped me since my hand router and several bits were 1/4" and several decorative bits needed 1/2" shaft.

Makita Jig Saw - Since I do not have a bandsaw, this portable saw has come in handy more than I would ever have imagined. I love that it is battery operated and I can take it with me anywhere.

Wood Biscuits - I use a variety of joining Tools. Size 20 Biscuits are my go-to when I need to make a big project.

Biscuit Jointer (Plate Jointer)

Kregg Pocket Hole Jig -  This was my first technique I was taught in school. It is by far the easiest tool to use and fairly cheap. If you plan on using Pocket Holes often, I would recommend the second link.
